Blank Slate…

New Years…

TIme to review, re-examine, and reimagine the year ahead. What will you conjure and create as you write your story on 2019’s blank slate?

This weekend I closed the private practice chapter of my life (for now). My heart overflowed with gratitude for the privilege of creating a sacred therapeutic space through which my brave, beloved clients navigated their transformational journeys of self-discovery.

Which led me to think about mine…

And of course, Terri was right there, commandeering my car sound system on the way home, channeling the title for this blog post.

Once I finally made it up to my home office to contemplate my 2019 blank slate, clearing a path was no easy feat! Mounds of clothes and clutter spilled off the still opened sleeper sofa where Miss M had slept, boxes and file cabinets littered the floor. But I kept chipping away. Till finally, I made it to my desk. Reaching up, I started lovingly peeling off one piece of my 2018 story after another.

Suddenly, a vision of Terri and I appeared. We were sitting side-by-side on the floor of her Ohio office, her vision board on her lap. I had never seen one before. Of course it would be Terri who turned me on to this powerful process of visualizing your dreams… She said, “It’s my way of using images and words to conceptualize the vision I have for my life. The idea being – what you visualize, think, and put out there to the universe – helps to create your reality.”

I embraced Terri’s vision of publishing her blog and her vision became mine. I visualized a Book Launch Celebration and it ended up exceeding my wildest dreams! Miss M and I visualized a Dream Book Tour and now our CT stop has become a reality! East Lyme Public Library is hosting us this coming Saturday, January 5th from 2:00-3:30!

So how are you going to fill your blank slate? I’d LOVE to hear what you’re envisioning!

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

See that beautiful pen on the desk? A gift from my openhearted son❤️

It reads:

Beyond powerful, right?

I’ll leave you with one of the songs Terri’s been”playing” for me lately— “A Beautiful Day” by India Arie. It begins:

Life is a journey,
Not a destination,
There are no mistakes,
Just chances we’ve taken
Lay down your regrets cause all we have is now

GIve it a listen, I promise you won’t be sorry.

And let me know what you come up with for your blank slate!

Hope to see you in CT next Saturday! Program registration is required. You can register online here—

Auntie Laurie

Beautiful song. Just what I needed today. I have read the book and am amazed.

So glad Carol! It totally uplifts me every time I listen. And I swear, Terri randomly “puts it on” when I need it most. My car audio system is her “channel” of choice—I set it to Pandora and all of a sudden, I get in the car and it magically switches to Itunes and “A Beautiful Day” comes on ❤️. Our story continues to resonate with so many-thank you for your kindhearted words-they mean the world to me.
