“Living Mindfully During Difficult Times” Take 2!
Thanks Aunty Cole for letting me know the interview link wasn’t working! All fixed and worth a listen❤️
This is the beach featured on WCAI’s website right above their link to my NPR interview with Mindy Todd entitled, “Living Mindfully During Difficult Times.” You can listen to the full interview here— The Point with Mindy Todd
Imagine my surprise when I realized it was the exact same beach I drove to after the interview… Terri Luanna and her mother, Jeanne, working their magic yet again.
I swear to god/buddha/the universe, they were sitting right beside me in that sound booth. I was SO NERVOUS! I’d spent the previous 48 hours “prepping,” but how do you prep for something you’ve never done before? There was no script, no preview of the structure of the interview. Just Terri’s fiercely compelling story about how to live your best life in the face of a terminal illness.
Mindy and her insightful guest, Ann Geagan, assured me the conversation would flow, and that before I knew it, it would be over.
And they were right.
What I wasn’t prepared for was the surge of grief that spilled out from my being as my “Terri song” immediately came on when I started my car.
Turning up the volume I drove immediately to the above-pictured beach. Communing with my sister and her daughter, I thanked them for helping me to channel their stories. And Miss M’s. And mine.
And I thanked them for opening the way to making meaning out of our life stories. For inspiring me to create a space to explore, reflect and connect with other seekers through publishing Terri’s story.
Together, I am eager to continue our openhearted conversations as we search to awaken to our own lives and the healing power embedded in our shared stories.
Love,
Auntie L
